What Panditji reads
Nine features, in the order the shastra takes them.
Forehead
The lalat is read first and read for the widest thing: how you think before you act. Its height, its width at the temples and the lines that have settled into it all count.
Eyebrows
Their arch, their thickness and how far apart they sit. The brows are the feature that shows temper most plainly, which is why a reader looks at them before the eyes.
Eyes
Their set, their size, the lid and how directly they meet a camera. The tradition reads the eyes for what a person actually wants, as against what they say they want.
Nose
The bridge, the tip and the wings. In Samudrika Shastra the nose carries money and self-regard, and its shape is read for how you hold both.
Lips and mouth
Fullness, the line between them and how the corners sit at rest. This is the feature that speaks about appetite, warmth and how freely you say the thing you are thinking.
Chin and jaw
A chin is read for staying power. Whether it is square, round or pointed says less about stubbornness than about what you do in the third hour of a hard argument.
Ears
Their height against the brow and the eye, the lobe and how flat they lie. Long lobes are the classical mark of a long view, and readers have taken ears seriously for centuries.
Face shape
Oval, round, square, long or heart shaped, and the balance between the three horizontal zones. The shape is the frame every other feature is read inside.
Moles, marks and lines
Where a mark sits matters more than the mark. Panditji names only what is genuinely visible in your photo and says so plainly when the light has hidden something.

Panditji looks at the photo and writes the reading. It usually arrives inside a minute, and it stays on your account so you can open it again later.
Take a good photo
What makes a face readable.
- Whole face in the frame, from the hairline to the chin, with a little room around it.
- Look straight at the camera. A three quarter angle hides one side of everything the reading is about.
- Daylight facing you is best. Light from behind turns the face into a silhouette and light from above buries the eyes.
- Take off sunglasses, push a cap back and lift the hair off the forehead. The lalat is the first thing read and the first thing a fringe hides.
- No beauty filter and no heavy edit. A smoothed photo has had the marks removed from it, which removes the reading with them.
- One person only, and a resting face rather than a wide smile. A smile pulls the mouth and the eyes out of their usual shape.
Worth saying plainly
What this is, and what it is not.
Samudrika Shastra is a real reading tradition with its own vocabulary, and this page uses that vocabulary honestly. What you get back is Panditji reading your photo in that tradition and writing to you in the voice you chose, the same one that answers in the chat. Our About page says exactly what Panditji is, and nothing here contradicts it.
A reading describes features and the temperament the tradition attaches to them. It will not diagnose an illness, put a date on anything, guess your caste or community, rate how you look, or sell you a stone. If a face reading anywhere does those things, that is the point to walk away.
Questions
What people ask before they send a photo.
What happens to my photo?
It goes to a private store that only this site can read, it is attached to your account and nobody else can open it. You can delete it from your account page at any time, and if you write and ask us to erase your account, every photograph you have sent goes with it. Photos are also cleared out on a rolling basis as new ones arrive, so an old one will disappear on its own; the reading text stays with you either way.
What if my photo is not clear enough?
Panditji says so rather than guessing, and tells you what to change: more light, a straighter angle, the whole face in frame. You can then send a replacement photo twice, free, on the same reading. You are never asked to pay again because a picture came out dark.
How long does it take?
Usually under a minute from the moment the payment goes through. Keep the page open while it writes. If something breaks halfway, the reading sits on your account with a button to try again, and trying again costs nothing.
What does it cost, and can I get a refund?
It is ₹29 for one reading, charged once. If a reading never arrived or arrived broken, write to us and we will put it right; the full policy is on our refund policy page. A reading you did not enjoy reading is not the same thing as a reading that failed, and we will say so honestly rather than pretend.
Will it comment on how I look?
No, and that is deliberate. Panditji reads features the way the shastra reads them and says nothing about beauty, weight, age, caste or community. If you want a compliment, this is the wrong page; if you want your forehead and your jaw described back to you, it is the right one.
Is this real face reading, or a party trick?
The vocabulary is the real one and it is used the way the tradition uses it, so the features named in your reading are the features actually in your photo. What it is not is a prediction machine. Read it the way you would read a thoughtful person describing your face back to you: some of it will land, some of it will not, and the useful part is the bit you recognise.
