Aaj ka rashifal — all twelve rashis

Today’s planetary positions could not be read just now, so nothing about today is shown. We would rather show you nothing than show you a guess.

Moon sign, not sun sign

Your rashi is not your birthday sign

A Vedic rashifal is read from your moon sign — the rashi the Moon stood in at the moment you were born. The sign you know from a birthday chart is the Western sun sign, and it is worked out on a different zodiac, so for most people the two are different signs entirely. The two date columns in the table below are the same twelve names measured both ways; if they disagree for you, the Vedic one is the row to follow.

What it is

What a rashifal reads

A rashifal is a reading of where the grahas stand today relative to your janma rashi — the rashi the Moon occupied at your birth. The Moon crosses all twelve in about twenty-seven days, so its position is what changes a reading from one day to the next; Shani and Guru move slowly enough that their positions shape a year rather than a day, which is why Sade Sati and the Guru transit are named on each sign’s own page rather than here.

How this page is worked out

The Moon’s rashi and the running tithi are computed by our own calculation engine, sidereal with Lahiri ayanamsa, at the time this page was last refreshed — not written in advance. The favourable and quiet positions named are the classical gochar tables, quoted as such. Where this page has nothing computed to say, it says nothing.
