What Panditji reads
Nine things a palm is asked, in the order a reader asks them.
Hand shape and element
A square palm with short fingers is read as earth, a long palm with long fingers as water, and the two in between as fire and air. It sets the register everything after it is read in.
The thumb
Its set, its angle and how far it bends backwards. Classical palmistry treats the thumb as the will: how firmly you hold a decision once you have made it.
Life line
The Jeevan rekha curving around the mount of Venus. It is read for vitality and for the shape of a life, never for how long one lasts, and this reading will not pretend otherwise.
Head line
The Mastishk rekha across the middle of the palm. Straight and level reads as practical, sloping down towards the Moon reads as imaginative, and a break or a fork is read as a change of mind that stuck.
Heart line
The Hriday rekha under the fingers. Where it ends, how deep it runs and whether it forks says how you attach, how openly you say so, and what you do when it goes wrong.
Fate line
The Bhagya rekha rising towards Saturn. A faint one is not bad luck; it usually belongs to somebody who chose their own path rather than inherited it.
Sun line
The Surya rekha under the ring finger, read for recognition and for the kind of work that gets noticed. Many good hands have none at all.
The mounts
The pads under each finger and at the base of the thumb: Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Moon and the two of Mars. Which of them stands full is read as which appetite runs your day.
Marks on the lines
Islands, crosses, stars, squares and triangles. Panditji names only the ones that are actually visible in your photo and says plainly when a line is too faint to call.

Take a good photo
What makes a palm readable.
- Use the hand you write with. That is the hand a reader takes first.
- Open the palm flat and hold the fingers a little apart, so the lines between them are not hidden by a crease.
- Daylight near a window beats a ceiling bulb, and beats flash by a long way. Flash flattens exactly the faint lines the reading needs.
- Fill the frame with the hand from the wrist to the fingertips, and keep the camera square to the palm rather than tilted.
- A plain background helps. A bedsheet or a table top is enough.
- Take two and send the sharper one. A blurred palm is the commonest reason a reading comes back asking for another photo.
Worth saying plainly
What this is, and what it is not.
Hast Rekha is a real reading tradition with its own vocabulary, and this page uses that vocabulary honestly. What you get back is Panditji reading your photo in that tradition and writing to you in the voice you chose, the same one that answers in the chat. Our About page says exactly what Panditji is, and nothing here contradicts it.
What a reading will not do is diagnose an illness, put a date on a death, promise a marriage or a job, or sell you a stone to fix any of it. If a palm reading anywhere makes those four promises, that is the point to walk away. This one describes a temperament and a set of tendencies, which is what a hand can honestly carry.
Questions
What people ask before they send a photo.
What happens to my photo?
It goes to a private store that only this site can read, it is attached to your account and nobody else can open it. You can delete it from your account page at any time, and if you write and ask us to erase your account, every photograph you have sent goes with it. Photos are also cleared out on a rolling basis as new ones arrive, so an old one will disappear on its own; the reading text stays with you either way.
What if my photo is not clear enough?
Panditji says so rather than guessing, and tells you what to change: more light, a flatter palm, a straighter angle. You can then send a replacement photo twice, free, on the same reading. You are never asked to pay again because a picture came out dark.
How long does it take?
Usually under a minute from the moment the payment goes through. Keep the page open while it writes. If something breaks halfway, the reading sits on your account with a button to try again, and trying again costs nothing.
What does it cost, and can I get a refund?
It is ₹29 for one reading, charged once. If a reading never arrived or arrived broken, write to us and we will put it right; the full policy is on our refund policy page. A reading you did not enjoy reading is not the same thing as a reading that failed, and we will say so honestly rather than pretend.
Do you need my birth details for this?
No. A palm reading is read off the hand alone, which is what makes it the one thing on this site you can do without knowing your birth time. If you do have your birth details, the free kundli is a completely different reading and the two are worth having side by side.
Is this real palmistry, or a party trick?
The vocabulary is the real one and it is used the way the tradition uses it, so the lines named in your reading are the lines actually on your hand. What it is not is a prediction machine. Read it the way you would read a thoughtful person describing your hand back to you: some of it will land, some of it will not, and the useful part is the bit you recognise.
