Getting your money back
Refunds & cancellation
Last updated: 5 August 2026
The pricing page says “write to us and we will sort it out”, and this page is that sentence with the mechanics filled in. Nothing here renews, so there is nothing to cancel; a pack you have not used comes back in full; a pack you have half used is worked out by a person rather than by a rule.
Cancellation
There is nothing to cancel
Modern Panditji sells one-time message packs. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal and no stored mandate, so nothing will ever charge you a second time unless you buy a second pack yourself. So there is no plan to cancel, no billing to stop, and nothing you have to remember to switch off before a date. If you simply stop using the site, nothing happens and nothing is owed.
Refunds
When we refund, and what happens
- An unused pack comes back in full
- If you bought a pack and have not spent a message from it, ask and we refund the whole amount. There is no restocking fee, no processing deduction and no argument about why, because we would rather return ₹999 than keep money somebody regrets spending.
- A partly used pack is worked out by a person
- If some messages have been answered, write to us and tell us what happened. As a rule we refund the part you have not used. We do this by hand rather than by formula, because how much a half-spent pack is worth depends on what actually went wrong, and a formula would get that right less often than a person reading your message does.
- A refunded pack stops working
- Once a refund is issued, the balance from that pack is withdrawn, since you cannot hold the money and the messages at once. Any other pack you hold is untouched. Messages already answered stay answered: your transcript is yours, and nothing is deleted from it.
- A reading that never arrived is refunded in full
- A face or palm reading is one payment for one reading, so there is no balance to work out. If you paid and no reading was ever written, ask and the whole amount comes back. The same applies if Panditji could not read your photograph after you had used both free retakes: at that point we have taken money and given you nothing you can read, and the answer is your money, not another attempt.
- A reading you have already read
- Once a reading has been written and shown to you, it has been delivered, and we do not refund it because you disagreed with what it said. If something about it was wrong in a way we should know about, write to us anyway. We would rather hear it than keep ₹29 quietly, and we have refunded readings before on nothing more than a fair complaint.
- Money left your account and no messages arrived
- That is usually not a refund at all. It is a payment that never completed, and your bank reverses it on its own, typically within five to seven working days. If the payment did in fact succeed, the pack is credited as soon as the confirmation reaches us; that confirmation comes from the payment gateway rather than from your browser, so a closed tab or a dropped connection does not lose it. Either way, write to us with the payment id and we will find out which of the two happened rather than leave you guessing.
- A pack you have not got round to using
- Nothing lapses, so there is no deadline to miss. Messages you bought are still there whenever you come back to them, however long that takes, which is why an unused pack is not usually refunded. If something on our side was broken and that is why you could not use it, that is our fault and not yours. Tell us and we will fix it.
- What we cannot refund
- We cannot refund a reading because you disagreed with it or because it did not come true. Everything here is offered for reflection and cultural interest, not as a prediction. The disclaimer says so plainly and this page cannot promise otherwise. What we would still like is your message: if an answer was wrong about your own chart, that is a bug in the calculation and we want to know.
How to ask
Asking for a refund
Write to contact@modernpanditji.com. That is the whole process.
- Write to us from the email address on your account, or through the contact page.
- Include the payment or order id from your Razorpay receipt, or the transaction id from your PayPal receipt, and one line about what happened.
- You do not need to fill in a form, open a ticket or chase anybody.
We reply within 3 working days. If we agree a refund, we raise it with Razorpay or PayPal, whichever took the payment, within 5 working days of agreeing it. We would rather ask you a question than refuse quietly, so if you do not hear from us in that time, assume the mail went astray and send it again.
The money itself
How a refund reaches you
A refund goes back the way it came, to the same card, UPI id or account the payment was made from. We cannot send it anywhere else, and we do not hold it as site credit unless you ask us to. Razorpay processes it, and after that the timing belongs to your bank: usually 5 to 7 working days for the amount to appear on your statement, occasionally a little longer.
A refund is returned in the currency you were charged in. If your bank converted that amount when you paid, it converts it back at the rate on the day of the refund, so the figure landing in your account can differ a little from the one that left it. That difference is your bank’s exchange rate rather than a deduction by us, and we refund the full amount every time.
The rest of the agreement is in our terms; what a pack costs and how far it goes is on the pricing page; and how a pack is delivered in the first place is in the delivery policy.
