Padas and their navamsaपाद

Nature · स्वभाव
The nature of this nakshatra
Shatabhisha means "a hundred physicians" or "a hundred stars", and its symbol is an empty circle; its deity is Varuna, keeper of cosmic waters and law. This is the nakshatra of hidden healing, secrecy and the far reaches — the circle that encloses a mystery, the many small remedies. Rahu rules it, giving an unconventional, boundary-crossing, sometimes eccentric mind. People with the Moon in Shatabhisha are private, self-contained and independent to the point of solitude; they think for themselves, resist the crowd, and are drawn to what is hidden, technical or mystical. There is a reserved, sometimes unreadable quality, and a real capacity to heal — of bodies, systems, secrets — that they tend to keep as quiet as everything else about themselves.
Strengths · शक्ति
Where it is strong
The strength is independent, healing insight. Shatabhisha sees and mends what is concealed — in medicine, technology, research or the psyche — and it does its best work alone, on its own unconventional lines. It has genuine originality, resistance to groupthink, and the discipline to hold secrets and follow a solitary path. It is drawn to truth and to the large view (Varuna’s far horizon), and at its best it is the reformer or healer who fixes what others could not even see, let alone repair.
Watch-outs · सावधानी
What to watch for
The privacy can become isolation, secrecy and a loneliness it will not admit. Shatabhisha can be stubborn, aloof, emotionally withholding, and so independent that it refuses the help and closeness it needs. Rahu can make it restless, contrarian, or drawn to escape, and its reserve can read to others as coldness it does not intend. The work is to let people in — to share the mysteries it guards, to accept care, and to use its healing gift on its own solitude as well as on the world’s hidden faults.
Work and relationships · कर्म व संबंध
Career and relationships
Tradition associates Shatabhisha with hidden, healing and technical work: medicine and research, technology and engineering, astrology and the occult, science, any solitary or reformist field. These people do well where independence and insight into the concealed are assets, and where being left alone to work is a gift rather than a punishment. In relationships they are loyal but private and reserved, and the growth edge is openness — letting the people they trust past the circle they keep drawn around themselves.

How this page is worked out
The ruling graha, rashi span, dasha length and the four padas are the classical attributes of Shatabhisha, computed from its position on the sidereal wheel with Lahiri ayanamsa. The written character is offered for reflection, drawn from the tradition’s significations — not a prediction about any individual life.
